Replacing Senator Richard Burr.
Earlier this week, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced that Senator Marco Rubio had been chosen to temporarily lead the Senate Intelligence Committee as its chairman. “Senator Rubio was the natural choice for this temporary assignment on the basis of accumulated committee service,” Senator McConnell said in a statement. “His proven leadership on pertinent issues only made the decision easier.”
As a result, Senator Rubio will now receive regular classified intelligence briefings moving forward. He is also still serving as the chairman of the Small Business Committee – a major part of the COVID-19 relief efforts. Rubio is filling in for Senator Richard Burr, who is currently under investigation by the FBI for his stock trading at the beginning of the pandemic.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For God to lead Senator Rubio in his new role.
- That God would give Senator McConnell wisdom on who best to appoint to committee positions.
- For the FBI to be fair and just in their investigation into Senator Burr.
